Jiangbin Gong received his B.S. degree from Nanjing University in 1993 and earned his Ph.D. in Theoretical Chemical Physics from the University of Toronto, Canada in 2001. Following the completion of his doctoral studies, he conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Toronto and the University of Chicago, where he further developed his expertise in quantum physics and nonlinear dynamics. In 2006, he joined the Department of Physics at the National University of Singapore, where he has since built a distinguished academic career.

He currently serves as a Provost’s Chair Professor and Head of the Department of Physics at the National University of Singapore. Professor Gong’s research is dedicated to advancing the fundamental understanding of quantum dynamics, quantum control, and complex quantum systems far from equilibrium. His work spans quantum chaos, topological quantum matter, non-Hermitian physics, quantum thermodynamics, and quantum transport phenomena. By combining theoretical modeling with advanced numerical simulations and close collaborations with experimental groups, his research explores novel quantum phenomena in driven quantum systems and has deepened the understanding of nonequilibrium quantum physics and nonequilibrium statistical mechanics.

Over the course of his career, Professor Gong has published extensively in leading international journals and has supervised numerous Ph.D. students and postdoctoral researchers. His research achievements have been recognized with several prestigious honors, and he has received substantial competitive research funding in Singapore. He is widely regarded as a leading researcher in the fields of quantum dynamics and complex quantum systems.
