Hsueh-Yung Lin, Ph.D.
2025 AYS Fellow - Maths&CS
Associate professor, National Taiwan University
Research Area: algebraic geometry, complex geometry
Award Citation: The AYSF Committee acknowledges Hsueh-Yung Lin's contribution to the development of algebraic and complex geometry using birational geometry with dynamical techniques and would like to support his exploration in the direction of dynamical entropy and motivic invariants.
Bio: Hsueh-Yung Lin received his Ph.D. in mathematics from École Polytechnique under the supervision of Claire Voisin. His research focuses on a broad range of topics in algebraic geometry and complex geometry, including hyper-Kähler geometry, the Kodaira problem, and more recently dynamical aspects and motivic invariants of birational maps. Since 2021, he has been a faculty member in the Department of Mathematics at National Taiwan University, where he is currently an associate professor.
