Dear Professor,

We are honored to invite you to nominate one eligible candidate for the Asian Young Scientist Fellowship - 2026 Selection Round. Your nomination will greatly help us identify early-career Asian scientists with the potential to thrive in this fellowship and contribute to the advancement of science in the region!

What are we?

Asian Young Scientist Fellowship (AYSF) is a privately funded research fellowship in the Asian region. It aims to encourage and support young scientists in Asia to carry out creative and transformative research. AYSF annually selects 12 early-career researchers in the following three fields: 1) Life Science, 2) Physical Science, and 3) Mathematics and Computer Science, covering basic, applied, and interdisciplinary research. Each recipient will receive a USD 100,000 grant to support his/her research initiative and academic endeavors and opportunities to participate in academic exchanges.

Through the rigorous review process, from 2022 to 2025, we successfully selected 36 AYS Fellows from Asian countries, including China (Mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan), Japan, Korea, Singapore and India. They represent the most creative minds and their achievements and potential place them among the next generation of scientific leaders in Asia.

Who is eligible to be nominated?

Eligible candidates must fulfill the following criteria in 2026 Selection Round:

  2. Candidates must be able to conduct independent scientific research as a principal investigator.

  3. Candidates must be within 10 years post-completion of the terminal (Ph.D./MD) degree obtained from January 1st, 2016.
