Research Area: Organic Electronics and Spintronics, Strongly Correlated Electron Systems, Organic Superconductors

Location: Tokyo, Japan

Hiroshi Yamamoto is a professor at Institute for Molecular Science, Japan. Dr. Yamamoto received his BS and MS degrees in Chemistry from University of Tokyo in 1993 and 1995, respectively. His doctorate was earned at University of Tokyo in 1998. He was a special postdoctoral researcher in The Institute of Physical and Chemical Research (RIKEN) in 1999, after which he became a research scientist at the same institute in 2000. He became a full professor at Institute for Molecular Science in 2012. His research interests focus on the development of novel electronic devices based on organic conductors and chiral molecules. He has discovered electric-field induced superconductivity in organic field-effect transistor. He received The Chemical Society of Japan Award for Creative Work in 2018.
