Award Citation: The AYSF Committee acknowledges Wenya Wang’s contributions to advancing system interpretability through the integration of symbolic logic, domain knowledge, and deep learning, and supports her continued exploration of multi-hop and dynamic reasoning via the combined use of symbolic logic and deep learning.

Bio: Wenya Wang is an Assistant Professor at the College of Computing and Data Science, Nanyang Technological University (NTU). She received her BSc degree in 2014 and Ph.D. in 2018 at NTU, Singapore. Prior to joining NTU, she was a research fellow at the University of Washington. Her research interest lies in Natural Language Processing, with extension to Multimodal Learning, particularly investigating and enhancing generative models in knowledge reasoning, interpretability and efficiency. She has published extensively on top-tier conferences and journals, including ACL, EMNLP, NeurIPS, AAAI, AIJ, TNNLS, etc. She received the prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship in 2019 and the International Postdoctoral Fellowship in 2022. She continuously serves as an Area Chair of ACL, EMNLP, NAACL, and Website Chair at IJCNLP-AACL.
