Award Citation: The AYSF Committee acknowledges Dr. Jijian Xu's research focusing on advanced battery materials and electrolytes for sustainable energy technologies. AYSF would like to support his research on reversible multi-electron conversion in Chalcogen cathodes.
Bio: Jijian Xu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at City University of Hong Kong. His research focuses on developing advanced electrolytes and novel electrode materials for high-energy batteries. He received his B.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Zhejiang University in 2014 and 2019, respectively. He subsequently conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Maryland, where he later became an Assistant Research Scientist. In 2023, he joined City University of Hong Kong and established his own research group. He has received several awards and honors for his work, including the 2025 Croucher Innovation Award, the 2024 “Elite Youth” Award from the Chinese Chemical Society, the Materials Today Rising Star Award, the Advanced Science “Rising Stars” recognition, and the Battery Division Postdoctoral Associate Research Award from The Electrochemical Society.
